Philippine Federation of Gamefowl Breeders, Inc. (PFGB) filed an intellectual property legal case at the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) against Pambansang Federation ng Gamefowl Breeders, Inc. (PFGB 2.0 or WOFGB or WO-BREAKAWAY) pertaining to the usage of trade names “PFGB” and “DIGMAAN”.
Philippine Federation of Gamefowl Breeders, Inc. (PFGB) held its inaugural or 1st DIGMAAN stag derby in the year of 2012. Then in 2013, its 2nd DIGMAAN stag derby.
In 2012, PFGB was formed with its vision and mission to host national derby accessible to the financially challenged (aka poor) cockfighters. Hence, #pangmasa. The pot money was set at PHP 6600 to be an alternative national stag derby to NFGB BAKBAKAN which has a pot money of PHP 15000 or PHP 16500.
But in 2013, under Interim President Wilson Ong, the pot money was raised to PHP 8800.
Philippine Federation of Gamefowl Breeders, Inc. (PFGB) was run by interim officers until it held its first elections on February 2014 per Security and Exchange Commission requirement. The quorum (11 of the 13 incorporators) agreed to have an election. Interim President Wilson Ong and Nestor Vendivil lost the elections to Rikki Reyes and Tony Ohsan.
After the elections, everyone shook hands and ready to face the start of the 2014 stag banding season. But Wilson Ong and Nestor Vendivil was to form a breakaway group with the same acronym PFGB (Pambansang Federation ng Gamefowl Breeders, Inc.) and the same cockfighting competition name DIGMAAN.
Philippine Federation of Gamefowl Breeders, Inc. (PFGB) is now headed by Rikki Reyes as President and Tony Ohsan as Vice President and is promoting its 3rd DIGMAAN stag national derby with PHP 4400 pot money and PHP 3300 minimum bet.
Pambansang Federation ng Gamefowl Breeders, Inc. (PFGB 2.0 or WOFGB or WO-BREAKAWAY) has Wilson Ong as its President and Nestor Vendivil as its Vice President and is promoting its 1st DIGMAAN stag national derby with PHP 8800 pot money and PHP 5500 minimum bet.
Will there be two DIGMAAN stag national derbies this coming October-December stag fighting season?
Only Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) can decide?
Or higher legal courts of the Philippines?
