“Our fight is to regain Liberties…” – a Kentuckian cockfighter

In the U.S territories, cockfighting is legal; a booming sports industry and gamecock farming industry.

  • American Samoa
  • Guam
  • the Northern Mariana Islands
  • Puerto Rico
  • the United States Virgin Islands

In the Mainland United States, the last legal cockfighting sports event was on August 2008.

Hawaii adopted a cockfighting resolution March 2010.

Unconstitutional Laws Have The History Of Being Repealed.

  • 1933 – Prohibition was repealed by 21st Amendment
  • 2009 – California Started Legal Medical Marijuana followed by 9 other states
  • 2011-07-24 – New York followed other states to become the latest state to legalize same-sex marriage

Cockfighting Is Next To Be Legalized Again.

  • Stand Up. Do Your Part. Be An Activist. Worldwide.
  • Repeal Cockfighting Ban! Legalize Liberty! Legalize Cockfighting!

Danny Milner defends sport-fowl tradition dating to nation’s founders

March 16, 2014

Bill Thomas, left, and Thomas Begley, with Derrick Foresman as referee,
started a cockfighting match on a farm near Spears in 1992.

Let me first say what an honor it is to be offering a rebuttal to the self-proclaimed God almighty. I always wanted to converse with God, but had no idea he was Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States.

Like many, I did not like Pacelle’s lump-sum characterization of Kentucky as vagrants looking for a handout in his March 2 commentary.

I could write a book on Pacelle’s and the HSUS’s bad antics, but was told to edit for length, so I’ll just list some.

  • Deceptively receiving donations for purposes other than the stated mission. Some members of Congress have asked for an investigation into the HSUS’s tax-exempt status.
  • Being sued for alleged racketeering by the owner of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. A judge allowed the suit to proceed.
  • Investing in fast food restaurants that are supplied by the same people HSUS persecutes.
  • Taking sympathy photos at shelters of animals that were never in the care of HSUS.
  • Being investigated by Oklahoma’s attorney general for possibly misleading donors to think they are supporting local animal shelters when the HSUS has no affiliation with local humane societies.
  • Enlisting convicted dog fighter Michael Vick, the king of animal cruelty, as a celebrity spokesman. In many states, it’s illegal for a convicted felon to be involved with an organization that solicits contributions.
  • Being cruel to animals. Isn’t that funny? The HSUS has killed more “rescued” animals in the name of humanity, even ones that could be saved, than all of those who have been accused and convicted of being inhumane.

Danny Milner of Harrison County is a sport-fowl enthusiast.

Pacelle’s efforts hurt even the most responsible of animal owners. He twists the truth to benefit his agenda. Despite unbiased studies that show there is no disproportionate criminal involvement in sport fowl, Pacelle makes false allegations about the sport and the people involved in it. Would a donation help?

He has written, “Cockfighters and horse-soring enthusiasts should have no more influence on politics than drug dealers or carjackers.” Should I translate? “Unless, you are committing fraud and killing as many animals as my organization does, you are not entitled to due process, equal rights or equal representation under the law.”

Sport-fowl enthusiasts own their fowl. We don’t receive government grants or public funding. Our expenses, in most cases, exceed our income from the sport, but most don’t pursue this for the money. Many don’t gamble, drink, do drugs, and there’s no time for prostitutes.

We, as a whole, have more appreciation for our fowl than you can imagine. We admire them because, despite their low position on the food chain, they still think they are king of the world.

Game fowl receive as good or better care in most cases than many household pets. They live the majority of their lives in luxury. As HSUS official John Goodwin said right before he killed one that had been seized, “they are truly majestic creatures.”

We, as sport-fowl owners, have a place in this country despite Pacelle’s opinion. Many of our founding fathers and elder statesmen shared our appreciation for sport fowl.

Our fight is not just to regain some civil liberties taken from us due to outside political influence. It is to put Pacelle back on the same level as the rest of us. He feels he is above the law. We feel suffocated by it.

There are far worse issues to worry about in this country than pilfering money from consumers to attempt to “save” a chicken that you will kill anyway. Try focusing on abortions or do your part to help with the heroin epidemic. How about donating to homeless shelters or feeding the poor, or for that matter reducing the HSUS overhead and doing the job you claim to do?

Pacelle has picked the wrong battle. Trust that.
