How To Breed Gamecock For Size and Body Conformation?

Say, broad back is the goal,

A broad back hen is worth 10 broad back roosters. An inbred broad back hen from a broad back chicken family is worth 30 broad back roosters.

Buy BROAD BACK pullets/hens…. from an honest breeder… who will let go the chicken that fits exactly your specifications on other characteristics (genotype and phenotype)

Say, tall is the goal,

A tall hen is worth 10 tall roosters. An inbred tall hen from a tall chicken family is worth 30 tall roosters.

Buy TALL pullets/hens…. from an honest breeder… who will let go the chicken that fits exactly your specifications on other characteristics (genotype and phenotype)

Say, short is the goal,

A short hen is worth 10 short roosters. An inbred short hen from a short chicken family is worth 30 short roosters.

Buy SHORT pullets/hens…. from an honest breeder… who will let go the chicken that fits exactly your specifications on other characteristics (genotype and phenotype)

Again.. for size and body conformation, a hen is worth 10 roosters (or an inbred hen is worth 30 roosters).

These percentages are for emphasis not science:

  • tall females will produce 85-95% tall offsprings even when mated with short male.
  • short females will produce 85-95% short offsprings even when mated with tall male.

More science accurate percentage:

  • short females will produce 75-85% short offsprings even when mated with tall male.

Also.. for size, nutrition and appetite rules.

To Be Taller and Larger

  • provide high protein high nutrition
  • provide supplements to keep a great appetite
  • feed at least 3 times during daytime and at least 2 times during nighttime

To Be Shorter and Smaller

  • control nutritional intake
  • feed only once a day

– Gameness til the End
