How To Become The Best Stag Fighter?

In many walks of life, there are honest folks and there are dishonest folks.

Cockfighting is no different. There are honest cockfighters and dishonest cockfighters.

Stag Fighting

Stag fighting is popular in the Philippines and in Dominican Republic.

Stag fighting is no different, there are honest stag fighter and there are dishonest stag fighter.

A stag is a male rooster not more than 11 months of age.

In the Philippines, stag fighting season is typically between October and December. There is also August-October period to spread out the days of stag fighting. The stags typically should be between 9-10 months during the stag fighting season.

  2. DIGMAAN 9-Stag Derby is hosted by Philippine Federation of Gamefowl Breeders, Inc. (PFGB)
  3. There are many wing banded local stag derbies
  4. There are many open (not wing banded) local stag derbies

Stag Wing Banding

To have an honest and fair stag fighting of the same young age, wing banding chicks is practiced both in the Philippines and in Dominican Republic.

In the Philippines, the only stag wing banding screening rule is four primary wing feathers on both wings at time of wing banding between April 1-15. The stags should be hatched January at the earliest but this is not a rule and just an informal guide.

In the Dominican Republic, wing banding are done to stags or cockerels 3 months old or younger (more likely 2.5 months old) as seen in videos. The stag wing banding screening rule is not available at this time.

Dishonest Stag Fighters

In the Philippines, to meet the 4+4 primary wing feathers rule, dishonest stag fighters resort to many tricks to cheat themselves and their competitions.

Much older stags or cockerels may fool the screening team during wing banding.

Dishonest stag fighters pull and remove the primary wing feathers early.

This practice will restart the growth of the primary wing feathers. And new primary feathers may appear like the original primary wing feathers to the screening team.

Dishonest stag fighters glue the primary wing feathers.

This practice is quite obvious, the primary wing feathers will be in place longer. Even if they should be dropped or molted out already as the stags or cockerels are more than 3.5 months of age.

Dishonest stag fighters insist on 4+4 rule.

As there is no rule on what earliest hatched date is allowed, even 3.25 to 5 month old stags or cockerels are being submitted for stag screening and some of the much older stags or cockerels may fool the banding team and get banded. The new primary wing feathers are mistaken as the original wing feathers.

Dishonest stag fighters boast and lie.

Most of these dishonest stag fighters will boast that they are great chicken raisers and know how to properly feed and to properly take care of their stags or cockerels that their November hatched chicks still have four primary wing feathers on both wings during April wing banding.

In fact, there are admitting that they are dishonest on the goal of honesty and fair play. They may have fooled the “by the book” banding screening team using the 4+4 wing banding rule. But they are lying and they are manipulating the public and the banding team. Again, the new primary wing feathers will be mistaken as the original wing feathers.

Dishonest stag fighters are criminal minds.

Not about the truth and the competition. Not about producing the best specie of gamecock strain of chickens. Not about stag neither. Greedy of money and fame. If so, you are not a stag fighter. You are a criminal mind.

Let’s not forget that money is an illusion. Money is printed out of thin air by private corporations and government corporations. Money is slavery.

The Best Stag Fighter.

Become honest and true to thyself. That is the first step on how to be the best stag fighter. The best to thyself.

I do not mind fighting against a much older gamecock rooster. My stag against a bullstag or a cock. I like competition and to be the underdog. And maybe this way, in the end and in rare chance, I may create the best gamecock strain of chickens that will be good as stag against much older rooster – a bullstag or a cock.
