Magsaysay-Teves entry rules NCA championship derby

MANILA, Philippines – JV Magsaysay, Joel and Gerry Teves dominated the field to share top honors in the National Cockers Alliance (NCA) World Championship Derby at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City over the weekend.

The troika’s entry, Tiffany and AMA, defeated the best of the best to finish with 6 1/2 points and capture the overall championship in the three-day event.

Rep. Rudy Albano’s Mulawin, Johnny Jalandoni’s Jacob Star of Negros, Thunderbird Binangonan of Nene Araneta and Dong Lamoste, Dynasty of Henry Tan, Jade Resort 2 of Arman Santos, Araw ng Davao of Dori Du and CPB JGT AAO of Claude Bautista all wound up with six points.

Regal Pest of Biyong Garing, Goldquest Champions of Osang dela Cruz, AAO Hitcock of Gerry Ramos, and IKA sa Pasay of Butchoy Olano and Alberto Cruz finished with identical 5 1/2 points while CJT Pleasant SF 1 of T. Sevilla, Tiffany and GCT of Danny Teves, BST Scorpio Binangonan of Ricky Valencia, Firefly 15 of Tom Wilson, SF Firefly 12 of Bebot Uy, and Tungkong Mangga of Tady Palma all had five points.

Meanwhile, the NCA holds another derby today to be hosted by Rene Medina and Bebot Uy.

Leading the cast are Tommy Chua, Osang dela Cruz, Mayor Elan Nagaño, Rene Medina, Bebot Uy, Jun Topacio, James Uy, Eugene Martin, Luding Boongaling, Manny and Armand Santos, Patrick Antonio, Gerry Ramos, the Firefly Group, Gov. NCA world derby finals Saturday

MANILA, Philippines — After two days of heart- stopping fights, the champion of the National Cockers Alliance (NCA) World Championship Derby will be decided Saturday when it stages its final round at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

After the nail-biting action in the World Championship Derby, the NCA will hold another blockbuster derby on Jan. 17 to be hosted by two of the top cockers in the country, Rene Medina and Bebot Uy.

Leading the pack are “Jade Resort 2” of Arman Santos, “Dynasty” of Henry Tan, “Thunderbird Binangonan of Nene Araneta and Dong Lamoste with 4 points.

Not far behind is “IKA sa Pasay 8-Cock Int’l” of Butchoy Olano and Alberto Cruz with 3.5 points.

With 3 points are “Mulawin” of Cong. Rudy Albano, “Bacolor Gold” of Engr. NCA world derby at Ynares

MANILA, Philippines — The NCA holds the much anticipated World Championship Derby (WCD) on Jan. 10, 12 and 14, 2012 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City with defending champions Johnny Jalandoni and Bong Carreon hoping to extend their crowns.

“The NCA WCD is the Olympics of cockfighting because it is the toughest in the world,” said American gamefowl breeder Dan Gray.

“Only the best breeders and cockers in the world join the NCA WCD. The number and quality of entries make it the hardest derby to win,” Tom Wilson added.

The NCA WCD is the counterpart of the famed derbies of the Sunset Recreational Club in Louisiana, United States.

NCA members have long prepared to participate in the event.

World tilt kicks off NCA derby season

MANILA, Philippines – The National Cockers Association kicks off its 2012 season with the staging of the World Championship Derby on Jan. 10, 12 and 14 with a crack roster of participants vying for top honors at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Defending champions Johnny Jalandoni and Gov. Bong Carreon set out to keep their crown but a host of other breeders are out to foil their bid in the event long considered as the counterpart of the famed derbies of the Sunset Recreational Club in Louisiana, USA.

“The NCA WCD is the toughest in the world,” according to noted American gamefowl breeder Dan Gray.

“Only the best breeders and cockers in the world join the NCA World Championship Derby,” Tom Wilson said. “The number and quality of entries make it the hardest derby to win.”
